Toddler Socks
I learned to make these socks after seeing
something similar in the stores but not wanting to pay $15 to $20 for them.
You'll need:
1.4 crochet needle
Size 10 crochet thread of any color
Any color/size or choice of beads
Appropriate size socks (preferably ones that fold down)
Tie the thread to the back end of the sock and start a straight chain crochet stitch. Stitch three loops, putting the bead straight into your needle then continuing to stitch three more straight crochet stitches, as if the bead were not there. After your three stitches from the bead, attach the sock by looping your needle to the end/outer layer of the sock and continuing the make three more straight stitches, then a bead, three more stitches and attach the sock and so on.
You can vary these socks with different types
of beads, colors of thread, even small sizes of ribbon. You can also vary the length that the beads hang down, but using more or less than three stitches in between.
Thank you for allowing me to share my craft with you! You can look at our family Web site to see other variations of socks I have made in the past. They really are very easy to do. Anyone can do them!
