Daniel Markel's Advice on Changing Careers

1. Unhappiness isn't worth it. After leaving As the World Turns and moving to California, Markel was asked to return to New York City to act. He knew moving his wife and two young kids cross-country again would be traumatic and decided against a life of instability.
   
   
2. Discover how you can make something you like into a career. Markel had a lot of celebrity friends and acquaintances and he decided to help them invest in real estate.
   
   
3. Just do it. Life is too short to waste time and Markel feels if you truly don't like your work things will only get worse. He "just did it" and he's glad he did!
