Expert Q&A

I am pregnant with my fifth child. What are some things I can do quickly that will help keep my body toned?

You may not have 30 minutes to exercise all at once, but you can still get great benefits by doing mini workouts throughout the day. Try doing a few sets of squats while you blow dry your hair or cook breakfast. In the time it takes to microwave pancakes (whole-wheat of course) you could do 10 squats! Then do some pushups while the kids eat lunch. You can place your hands on a chair with your feet on the floor. And bath time is great for doing crunches. Fill the tub with toys and bubbles, and you've got at least 10 minutes to work your abs and then stretch.

I also like to involve my kids in my workouts. I use my baby Sam instead of weights to work my upper body and abs (check out my FitMama & Me video). And I love to play baseball and soccer with my son Abe. It also shows a great example of fitness to your kids."
