Diana Jones
Safety Expert![]() "To use non-frightening lessons to effectively teach children how to avoid dangerous encounters. To educate and empower children with the knowledge and confidence to recognize danger, and to execute intelligent decisions about their safety."Photo: Diana Jones, Safety Expert
Jones began her crusade to keep children safe in 1995 when she launched RUN* YELL *TELL Ltd. as a result of a conversation with her young daughter, who believed that she could fend off danger by Tae Kwon Do techniques. Jones then set out to find resources addressing abduction and abuse, and was disillusioned to find that few programs existed which effectively teach children how to avoid danger. Jones received her Bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology from Hamilton College, and her Master's degree in counseling psychology from New York University. Her extensive experience in the field ranges from academic research, to community-based mental health. She is an active volunteer, safety educator, and lecturer for many community programs, committees, and law enforcement agencies. She resides in Westchester County with her husband and two children.
