Dr. Van Groenou's long-standing interest in international health issues has driven her passion for women's health and emergency medicine. Her primary interest is improving people's access to health care resources and providing excellent health education.

Dr. Van Groenou is a physician and freelance health writer. Through her clinical work in women's health and emergency medicine, her volunteer work in rural Mexico, and her health writing, she wants to make sure people get the practical medical information they need to be healthy, happy, and active. She is the author of The Active Woman's Guide to Pregnancy: Practical Advice for Getting Outdoors When Expecting (Ten Speed Press, 2004).
