Mindy Hudon

Speech and Language Pathologist

"We often take for granted the ability to talk and to be understood, but for a child who cannot it can be difficult and frustrating existence. Imagine having all these thoughts and ideas and being unable to express them. The greatest feeling of satisfaction for me as a speech-language pathologist, is to see the face of a child when they are able to communicate their thoughts and feelings to their parents. Now as a parent, I know how exciting and rewarding it is to hear your child talk."

Mindy Hudon is the mother of fraternal twin boys. She is a certified speech-language pathologist with more than 16 years experience. She earned a Bachelors Degree from Rhode Island College and a Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from Southern Connecticut State University. Hudon is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and has received ACE awards for her persistence in continuing education.

Hudon has worked with both children and adults in private practice, medical-and school-based settings. She has extensive experience working with feeding/swallowing disorders, disorders of phonology, language, reading, voice, fluency, oral motor and aural rehabilitation. Hudon has been an expert advisor and freelance writer for iParenting Media and other newsstand magazines since 1999.

Hudon is a first degree black belt in Eclectic Karate. She enjoys teaching parents, children and her own twins the benefits of martial arts training to develop their mind, body and spirit.

Based on her clinical experience she has developed a parents information packet called "TALK-A-LOT!" Stimulating speech and language skills for children: birth to 3 years. This packet provides information for every parent on how to enhance their child's speech and language skills during everyday activities such as play, mealtime or even bath time! A "how to" guide that every parent and child will enjoy. To purchase the packet "TALK-A-LOT!" send an email to mhtalkalot@aol.com.
