Mary Dailey
Addictions Counselor![]() "Teen substance abuse is a major problem facing our families and causes related problems within our schools and communities. Parents are the single most important reason children decide to abstain or postpone drinking and other drug use. Talking about 'sex, drugs and rock 'n roll' is crucial. Network with other parents, share your knowledge and experience." | |
Mary Dailey received her M.S. degree in counseling from Illinois Institute of Technology and has earned further graduate credit from Northwestern University and the University of Illinois Jane Addams School of Social Work. She received her B.Z. from Rosary College (Now Dominican University). Since 1985 Mary has served as the Student Assistance Program Coordinator at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. She also is an adjunct professor at Northwestern University in the School of Education and Social Policy. Daileys certification as an addicitions counselor gives her broad expertise in chemical dependency issues. Her experience as a lecturer and writer has reached far beyond the local communities she serves. Her involvement with state and national organizations has earned her recognition for excellence in Drug Education and Prevention by the U.S. Department of Education. Dailey and her husband have been married for over 26 years and have hosted five exchange students from Turkey and Russia with the American Field Service Program.
