Nurse Practitioner

"As a nurse practitioner specializing in care of people of all ages, my mission is to provide health information that equips the person to choose to achieve or maintain optimal personal wellness and avoid illness or injury, and to assist the person with an illness or injury to recover from the illness or injury or adapt to their limitations in order to reach optimal personal wellness."

Cathy Giessel, M.S., FNP-CS, was born and raised in Alaska, and has been a nurse there for 30 years and a nurse practitioner since 2000. She works in urgent care clinics, travel medicine clinics, pediatrics and alternative medicine. She has traveled to the North Slope villages, performing sports physicals on the students in these small communities that are only accessible by small aircraft. She is currently employed in a rehabilitation medicine clinic.

Giessel is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners, American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
