David L. Fay, M.D.

Family Physician
Associate Director, Waukesha Family Practice Residency Program

"I believe in the Family Physician treating the family; this includes prenatal care, delivery, treatment of the newborn, and treatment of siblings, parents and grandparents. This is a tremendous responsiblity and privilege, and I feel that I should embark upon this with reverence and make every attempt to provide the best care I can. This requires keeping up with the latest information and compassionately applying it to the humans who seek my advice. I believe honesty and open communication is essential to the physician-patient relationship. I strive to treat each patient the way I would like my family treated; I owe them nothing less."

After three years in the U.S. Army, Dr. Fay received his doctorate of medicine from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. in 1987. He completed training in the Family Practice Residency program at Malcolm Grow USAF Medical Center in Maryland. He served at RAF Upper Heyford in the United Kingdom in various posts, including chairman of the Family Practice Department. After his honorable discharge Dr. Fay practiced in Champaign, Ill. before joining the faculty at the Waukesha Family Practice Residency Program, where he currently teaches and practices the full scope of Family Medicine. He is currently board certified in Family Medicine and serves as an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He and his wife, Lisa, enjoy singing, and he plays guitar and electric bass. They have two children, Michael and Erin, and two yellow labrador retrievers, Murphy and Bailey.
