Baby Showers

I am a first time baby shower planner and I am grateful for your site! It gave me some great additional ideas for the surprise shower I am planning for my best friend who is pregnant with her third child.

I do have an idea for your "Games" section, although it's not really a game. While watching television one day, I came across a program on The Family Channel. The program profiled a couple's journey through pregnancy. During the shower portion of the show, I noticed that the family had a large brick wall on which all the guests used chalk to write a small saying or word of encouragement for the new parents-to-be. Now I know that not all of us have long brick walls, or even a wall at all on which to write, so my thought was to use a sheet of foam board and magic markers. After the shower, the parents may chose to hang this masterpiece in the new baby's room to remind them of all the people who love and care for them. This is one of the activities I am planning for my best friend's shower.

Again, thank you for your wonderful, helpful site!

Truly,
Amy Kachinsky

New site!

I just wanted to say thank you for adding this site (Preconception.com.) It is nice to know that I'm not alone, and that there is support out there. Some ideas: infertility drugs, treatments, what people go through, ways to cope with all of this stress... anything! Just a couple of ideas. THANKS!

Stacy

Preconception

Bravo to you for this Web site (Preconception.com)! While we were planning our first baby (now due in May!), I really had to search to find information relevant to preconception. This was surprising and saddening since, ideally, every baby should be well thought out and planned for for the sake of and health of that baby. Even despite the posters up around my OB's office proclaiming such things as, "Moms should be getting enough folic acid months prior to conception," I was and still am treated as an anomaly since I had a preconception check up with the doctor, and knew within 12 hours when my baby was conceived since we were charting. I believe your Web site will begin to raise the awareness of everyone that preconception planning is the right thing to do, and will make it a more mainstream and common event. Thanks!

Sincerely,
W. Crow

Praise

I just wanted to say that I think this site and all related are GREAT! I have gotten wonderful tips from people and intend to visit as much as possible. My husband and I are trying to conceive right now, so I visit fairly often!! THANKS AGAIN!!

Thanks

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this new site (Preconception.com). I've been all over the Internet looking for information on preconception and prepregnancy. DH and I won't be TTC for about 18 months. However, we are actively planning out our pregnancy, and the major life changes it will bring. We've set down and are working to get our finances into shape. We are working on adapting a more healthy lifestyle, charting my temps and we are reading and researching as much as possible. I've also switched to a midwife for my gynecological care, in order to build a relationship with her before we TTC. I'd love infromation on the latest research, charting temps, exercise and nutrition information, financial tips and advice and information on alternative birth options. I love the diaries and check in often -- keep up the great work.

Diaries

I like the idea of having a diary and the some stories are very inspirational. It has been only one week since I found out I am pregnant and it is good to hear from others what is like and what I can expect.

Thank you,
Sol M. Cancel and Baby
