Mom of the Month
Dear Elisa,
I first heard of your Web site while reading Soaps in Depth and reading an article about Kassie DePavia and her son. I would just like to make the comment and I hope you are able to forward this letter onto her. I admire her courage and her outstanding contribution for children that are hearing impaired. I have a 2 1/2-year-old son named Austin who before October could not even say "mama" or "dada." I did not know why -- until I had his hearing checked at the age of 25 months. He could not hear due to the amount of fluid in his ears because of the numerous ear infections; therefore his speech was also impaired. He has since had tubes in his ears and now his speech is a little slow but developing more and more every day. I was so upset when I thought to how frustrated my little guy must have felt not being able to hear his mom and dad's voice. I support Kassie 100%!!!! If there is any information on how I can get involved where I live (Central Illinois) -- please let me know!!!

Question About Term
I'm curious -- I've seen the term "DH" in several articles on this Web site, and I don't know what it means. I assume it is something like a husband. Could you clarify this for me please?
Thanks!
Teresa Dela Mater
Webmother's Note: You're on the right track! It can mean dear husband or damn husband, depending on context (and a few other things!). Read about this term, and others, here.
Thank You for Daily
In today's Pregnancy Daily for me (day 259, 37 weeks), the message is
"If you don't have access to your e-mail at home, don't forget to unsubscribe from any e-mail list you've joined before you go on maternity leave!"
Yay! Thank you for reminding us. This is very important. I don't know how many bounces I've seen from women on maternity leave or other absences -- "I'm out of the office...". I'm so glad you included this message!
