Love the Diaries
Hi,
I just wanted to say that I love the diaries!
I'm currently TTC, and while I don't quite feel like keeping a journal of my tribulations, I'm planning to start a journal the day I find out I'm pregnant.
I really enjoy your site in general. Thanks!
Betsey
Hi Elisa,
First let me say how much I've enjoyed Pregnancy Today and Babies Today. Since my son is now 15 months old, I'm really looking forward to Toddlers Today.
My question has to do with the (Babies Today) photo contest. I'd love to submit a picture of my son, but we only have a digital camera. I don't have any "printed" pictures of my son. I do have several pictures that I can send as jpegs. Will you accept jpegs? And can I enter the contest even though I'm from Canada?

Mom of Deana (16), Jordan (11), Jesse (9) and Adam (15 months)
Editor's Note: Yes, we will accept pictures electronically as .jpg or .tif or .gif files. Please e-mail them to me at info@pregnancytoday.com. And we will accept entries from all over the world!
Don't Like Models
We've been debating about the skinny models shown on your Web
site and thought you might want to see what one of us really looks like. You are free to publish this anywhere on your site that you see fit.
Here I am at 21 weeks pregnant fixing myself a cup of tea for insomnia.
Keep up the good work!

Models Don't Look PregnantI feel very strongly about the models that are being used on the site. They are all so un-pregnant looking. When people are pregnant, as you should know, they are very sensitive.
I post on the Pregnancy Today MomsTalk board and some of the ladies there have mentioned that they are disturbed by the pictures of skinny women while they're feeling fat and ugly.
I hope that you take my opinion into consideration when you next update your site. The last thing that I want to see at the moment is a skinny person modelling maternity wear while I can bearly fit into any of my clothes anymore.
Thank you,
Cassandra
Editor's Note: We feel the same way you do about the lack of "realistic" pregnant models in the media. In our effort to find "real" pregnant women to feature on our site, look for our second annual pregnancy photo contest to launch next week!
Breastfeeding and Formula?
Congratulations on one of the best sources of pregnancy information anywhere! My baby, Rebecca, is now six weeks old and I referred to your site constantly during my pregnancy, and still do.
Just a comment... has anyone else noticed that when you do a search on, say AltaVista, for the topic "breastfeeding," the advertising at the top of the results page nearly always has an ad for baby formula? This cannot be coincidence.

PT RegularHi Elisa,
You may not remember me but I was a daily regular at PT last year during my first pregnancy. I found it so informatitive and told all my pregnant friends to come here too.
I loved hearing about other peoples experiences, and have a mailing list of mothers I met at PT when we were all expecting. It was a great way to make friends and share special milestones in our babies' lives.
I have come back after one year as I am now expecting baby number two. I will be a regular again, and look forward to making more friends and gaining more information.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

Maternity JeansDear Elisa,
Everyone knows that maternity jeans tend to be overpriced and barely resemble jeans at all. So what my mother did, and I have done, is to take a normal pair of jeans and have maternity panels put in. The panels are only $4 or $5, and if you don't sew, a seamstress will put them in for under $10. This way you get a pair of jeans in a style you like for a good deal less than from a maternity store. The panels can be purchased at any sewing or fabric store.

I would like to let you know that your discussion board has been a big help to myself and my husband. I miscarried on January 20 at seven weeks. I found your site while surfing the web for information. It helps to know that there are others out there who are going through the same thing and being able to correspond with them helps, too.
I would like to express my disappointment of a few of the discussion board topics. Lesbian Moms and Gay/Lesbian Parents are the two topics that I strongly object to.
Overall, I think the Web site has been a big help to those who need someone to talk to or ask questions to. Keep up the good work!
Seek Specialized InfoHello,
I want you to know that I am very impressed with your Web site. It is very informative and helpful. I have passed it on to other people in my situation.
In the near future, I would like to see lists of doctors, midwives and clinics that specialize in alternative insemination. Also, whether or not they are gay/lesbian friendly. I live in New York and would like to receive recommendations.
Keep up the great work. It's truly appreciated!
Ella
Pregnant After LossDear Elisa,
I came across your Web site by accident one day in November. Ever since that time, I have never missed a beat! I want to send a thank you for creating a site that is so informative to the development of babies and toddlers as well. I can't wait until the Toddlers Today site is up and running! I have a two-year-old son and am possibly pregnant with number three! I lost my daughter last year in September. At the time I found your site, I was very depressed because I missed Milan so much. After I found the birth stories section as well as the "TTC after Miscarriage," I knew I was not alone. After talking to a few other women, they gave me some helpful ideas of where I could go to help me deal with Milan's death.
Thank you so much that you have given me the opportunity to move on and possibly plan to have more children.
Yolanda Harrell
