Weight Gain Board

Thanks for putting up the second board -- Weight Gain During Pregnancy. I am new to your boards and I was shocked by the way the women were treating each other on the Overweight board. In fact, I was planning to write to you this evening in case you didn't know about the situation already. It's sad how hurtful people can be. Aside from that, I have found your site to he helpful, supportive and informative.

Thanks,

Liz Fretz

Editor's Note: We, too, were disappointed in how people were being treated on that board. We hope the new board will help alleviate tensions between people who were overweight prior to pregnancy and those who are worried about weight gain during pregnancy. You can join them here.

Likes Newsletter

I have really come to appreciate this newsletter as a kind of luxury, relaxing time for myself. I am a happily married 26-year-old expecting my third and final child. We have two daughters, both birthdays in June, when they will be five and two. (My oldest daughter's name, by the way, is also Elisa). Thank you for taking the time to put this all together. I especially love the diaries! Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,

Annette Gautier

Disappointed

My husband and I started TTC in January for our first child. I have been reading and finding comfort/helpful information in the preconception section of Pregnancy Today. I felt very disappointed with the selection of Stephanie Powers' story (the First Response contest) as one that was cute/entertaining. I am not one who writes this type of letter often, but because I have found the Pregnancy Today site to be so informative, I felt I had to let you know how it came across to me and perhaps a few others. Selecting a story from a woman who decided she was ready to have a baby despite not being married not only shows poor taste, but I think shows support for her disregard of the needs of her own future child (children deserve to have a mother and father).

I hope that in the future Pregnancy Today will demonstrate that it values using good judgement when it comes to starting a family.

Sincerely,

KF in Georgia

It Worked!

I just wanted to drop you a little note to let you know how much your Web site helped me learn all about pregnancy. I found so many interesting links and resources that I bought books, read articles and stories and followed your advise about improving fertility and wouldn't you know, I'M PREGNANT and simply thrilled.

My husband and I look forward to visiting your site often and appreciate all the help you've provided us with thus far. Can you send an expert to come live on site with us for a few years? Just kidding.

Keep up the good work.

Lamaze

Hi,

I plan on sharing your site with everyone in our Lamaze class. It really is helpful.

La Leche League

Oh, how I wish I was joining you at the La Leche League Conference! I went when my youngest son was a baby, and it was one of the only conferences I was ever at where people spent lots of time smiling because you had a baby with you!

I'm glad you'll be there.

Dawn Kersula, faithful reader since I discovered you, and a childbirth educator and LLL Leader and OB nurse and lactation consultant and mother!!

Hello From Ireland

Hi. I'm in Ireland, and since I discovered both your preconception and pregnancy sites, I've logged on every day (I have been trying for a baby, and just discovered two weeks ago that I'm pregnant).

Keep up the good work. It's so great to be able to devour so much information, and to be able to hear other people's stories, who are all going through what I am. Thanks!

Hi From Argentina

Dear iParenting.com,

It's really a pleasure to receive new information by e-mail every week. I am an American living in Buenos Aires, Argentina expecting twins in August and sometimes feel isolated from prenatal information. I have joined an expectant mothers group, all of which are expats living in Argentina. They have helped provide info about where to buy baby furniture, etc., however, it's not the same as getting educational information. We don't have the luxury and privilege to run out to Barnes and Noble for the latest book on controversial topics or just basic information.

I am looking forward to delivering our babies here. The hospital and medical staff is top notch and I've heard nothing but rave reviews from other women who have delivered their babies here. Some of them have said that it's better than in the United States because they provide so much help from the time one enters the hospital to the time one leaves.

I have passed this Web site along to my friends here as the Internet keeps us close to our families and friends as well as providing us with educational information. Thank you.

Fondly,

Sara Armstrong
