Mother's Day -- Queen For a Day

Just wanted to share my story. Now, some people don't see me as a mother yet since I am 13 weeks pregnant with my first child. But everyone around me treated me like a queen anyway!

I got my first Mother's Day card from my mother-in-law, followed a couple of days later by cards from my mom and my sister-in-law. I had a feeling that my husband would do something but I had no idea what.

We woke up a little earlier than normal on Sunday morning. We usually get up in time to relax some in bed with coffee before we get up, eat breakfast, and then get ready for church. My husband, Chris, had brought up the coffee to wake me up. We watched some TV and then he asked if I wanted another cup of coffee. That was a bit strange since we usually only drink one up each. But I said yes, so he went downstairs. The next thing I know he has the lap tray with a dozen roses, a card, two glasses of milk and a box of still-warm donuts from Shipley's!! It was so very sweet! I know he had to hunt for a while just to find the lap tray!

Come to find out, he's been awake since 6:30 that morning and decided to go get breakfast. While out, he decided to swing by the grocery store and pick up some flowers. He did say that there were about 30 men there all with different excuses as to why they were waiting until the last minute to get flowers! I never knew he wasn't in bed, much less not even in the house!

I even got a small corsage to wear to church. We went to church with his family and then we went out to eat. It was a great day and it meant a lot!

Enjoys Preconception.com

Hello my name is Stacy and I have just recently found Preconception.com. I love it I have found it to be so encouraging. I have been reading your diaries and one of them makes me feel like I am talking to myself. My husband and I have a seven-year-old boy and have been trying for the last five months to conceive. We had our first child in high school and now we want so badly to do things the right way and be able to enjoy my pregnancy and the baby. I got pregnant last month and had a miscarriage that is so discouraging, but I know God has a bigger plan for us. Anyway I just wanted you to know that you are doing a wonderful job and your site has really helped me.

Thanks again!

Stacy

Mother's Day Surprise

I had a wonderful mother's day. My husband planned a surprise trip for the whole family (me, our five-year-old, two-year-old and 16-year-old niece that lives with us). Mother's Day We went to Springfield, MO to the Fantastic Caverns. He chose this particular cavern because you ride through it and since I am seven months pregnant it was really nice. Well, we drove down on Saturday, went through the cavern that night, went out to eat (my choice), stayed the night and drove back Sunday. It was wonderful not only because my husband was being thoughtful, but because everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and I did not have to listen to any arguing (most of the time). Well, it felt good to spend time as a family, especially since my husband is away at work all week long.

First Tooth

I celebrated Mother's Day enjoying the gift my seven-month-old daughter, Jillian, gave me - her first tooth!!!! I was thrilled - even though she spent most of the day being cranky due to her discomfort!

Best Mother's Day Gift Ever

I gave birth to our first child on Mother's Day at 5:14 a.m.! We have a son, Mason Riley. He is truly a miracle. He is the best Mother's Day gift in the whole world!!

Mommy and Baby

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my sweet one year old. He woke up extra early that morning. His dad said he couldn't wait to tell me, "Happy Mother's Day." Of course, we went out to eat for lunch after church. I don't mind cooking -- I just hate cleaning up afterwards. Having someone do it for you is a blessing. Then at the end of the day, after PJ was asleep, my husband and I sat in the swing under the stars and I told him we were going to be parents all over again. He was excited and had a wonderful Mother's Day, too. :)
