Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I've enjoyed your sites for over a year now. Thank you for providing such encouraging and interesting information! I would like to be able to share my experience with my new daughter, born 3-27-00, in the baby diaries.

How Old Should a Mother Be?
Dear iParenting,
I am commenting about your survey poll about the right age before a woman is responsible or experienced enough to have a child. I don't think there is a correct age. It depends on the maturity, resposibilities, goals, dreams and other related things in a person's life. I am 19 years old and a mother of an 18-month-old. She is the best thing that ever happened to me. I believe I am a good mother and so do others I know. In fact my doctor even commented that I take better care of and know my child better then most mothers 10 years older than myself. She also commented on how bright my daughter is due to my knowledge of children and constant attention she is given.
I am not saying all young or even teenage mothers are ready for motherhood or are good mothers. But there are some of us that take better care of our children than our older role models. I wish not everybody viewed us as bad parents or as people who made mistakes. If anything my daughter has given me more drive to complete my goal to become a lawyer than before.
I just wanted to let you know what I thought and how I felt because I believe every mother has the potential to be a good mother if they just look within themselves and find it.
Sincerely,
Kamilyn Pennington
New Board Idea
Hello,
There's been some talk recently on the TTC 6+ months board about maybe needing something for those of us who have been trying longer than that, like maybe 18+ months or something. You'd have to look at the trend, and perhaps some other people will write about this to you as well.
I hope you will consider it. Thank you for your time and a great site.
