New Board Request

Hi,

I've been following the Pregnancy Today site since I became pregnant and found it to be a wonderful support group. Now that my daughter is born, I've been searching the boards for another support group. My daughter was born with dislocated hips and is now in a cast from her stomach to her ankles and will be shortly headed for surgery due to the cast not working.

Do you think it's possible to create this type of board for support with children who are born with problems such as this? I'm not sure how it would titled, but knowing how many women see and post on iParenting's boards, there must be some other parent out there that I can reach to that can offer support and may have been through this or are going through this now.

Thanks so much and look forward to hearing from you.

Jill

Mother's Day Joy

I found out on May 5th that I AM PREGNANT!!!!

So, of course, I couldn't wait to tell my mother. And what perfect timing -- Mother's Day!!! My mother and her husband went out of town and my husband and I drove more than two hours just to catch them at their hotel room to give her this special gift for Mother's Day.

I bought the cutest and softest teddy bear I could find and I put a bow around its neck along with a pacifier (like a little necklace!). I wrapped the box so pretty and then gave it to her. (My husband and I had been trying to conceive for 19 months and our families knew that we'd been having problems). So, my mother opened the gift and tears came to her eyes and she said, "Does this mean what I think it means?" Of course, I WAS GRINNING FROM EAR TO EAR!!! We cried and hugged for so long.

We did the same thing for my husband's mother and my husband's dad's wife!!!

Needless to say, everyone is SO excited and this was the BEST MOTHER'S DAY EVER!!! FOR ME AND MY MOTHERS!!!!

New mommy-to-be,

Angela

An Update on Mary

We were chatting with our doctor and we told him we knew our situation was unusual and such, but we asked him how unusual was it. He said that with the sac alone being ruptured, never mind the placenta torn, he said 95% of women will deliver within two weeks of the sac rupturing. Of those 95%, 75% will deliver in the first week, so for us to have gone four weeks is off the charts. We are officially examples of what can happen...

So now we wait. He will be surprised to see us go a week, but then again, we have been known to break the stats.

Mary
