Comprehensive iParenting Site
Hi Elisa!
I love this site! It is very informative, easy to understand and has everything I want in one place! Thank you for such a great site!
I do have one question for you though, how often are things updated? I see you have weekly birth story updates, but what day is that generally done? I would love to know so I can keep coming back here but not just read the things I've already seen. Did that make sense? Anyway, thanks again. I love this place and look forward to growing with you all as a community!
Sincerely,
Christina
Webmother's note: Our sites are run as weekly magazines, and all updating is done by Tuesdays (except if there's a holiday, then it's Wednesdays). If you sign up for our free weekly e-newsletter (on the main page of each site), it will arrive in your e-mail box each Tuesday (or Wednesday if there's a holiday) and give you the scoop on what's new each week! Thanks for being a part of our community!
An Update From Mary and Her Twins!
It's been 6 weeks since Andy and Gracie were born and things are starting to calm down a bit...well, not really, but I'm getting to the point of accepting the chaos my life will now be.
The kids are doing well. They are now weighing around 6.5 pounds (Andy) and 5.5 (Gracie). They are co-bedding in a crib and seem to already be affected if one is not there...they just are antsy unless they are together.
Our lives have been saved by the side by side stroller we got. The kids sleep in it during the day, and I can put one on it and push it while feeding the other.
I think of my friends at the hospital quite often. After 75 days in the hospital plus our 2 weeks in NICU, I really have found myself attached to them. I miss them, but know that I have to move on, as they no doubt have already done.
I'm getting some sleep, but not much. It is tiring, but almost every time I sit to feed one of them, I find myself in tears over the mystery of the miracle they are. I still cannot believe they are here, that they are healthy...what an amazing experience.
Mary, Troy, Andy and Gracie!
A Very Special Thank You
You probably
get a lot of these, but my wife, Marla, and I would like to thank you for providing your complete and comprehensive site. I stumbled on it about 2 weeks before we knew we were expecting
(mid-January). I reviewed it quickly and thought, "This would have been great to access when we had Andrew," nearly 8 years earlier. When we found out that "Miracle no. 2" was on the way, I
searched you back out. Since then, your weekly e-newsletter has provided very "real" help in several areas, including late-life pregnancy help (Marla turns 39 this Sunday), updates on
breastfeeding (she did Andrew for 2 years), diet (she's had gestational diabetes), exercise and C-sections.
We have no doubt that your input made the delivery of Sarah Rose and the recovery last week as smooth as it was. Though our insurance covered 5 days for the C-sec and the hospital only had about 25 percent occupancy in the maternity section, the doctor said Marla and Sarah Rose were free to come home after the second day. He was genuinely impressed with Marla's preparedness and overall health, and the baby was fine.
We've recommended you to several other expecting families who we know will benefit from your excellence.
Thank you,
Marla, Andrew, Sarah and Steve Gorges
