Like the Pregnancy Daily
Hi,
I just wanted to let you know how much my wife and I enjoyed using our Web page. She delivered a beautiful 8 lbs., 12 oz. baby boy on Tuesday. We used your Pregnancy Daily site since we found out she was pregnant and found it to be very informative. It made her feel at ease knowing that such a useful resource was right at her finger tips. Keep up the good work. We plan to spread the word about your wonderful site.
Many Thanks,
Brian, Denise, and Baby Nathan Calderone
New List Idea
Hi,
I'm going to be a single mom by choice. Perhaps you could offer that as one of your options for a mailing list. Many of the comments don't pertain to me because I don't have a partner -- male or female -- in my life.
Thanks for your consideration!
Tammy, mom to be in May 2000
Webmother's Note: You can find the new list here (subscribe to the "single" list) and board here.
A Warning About Walkers
I just stumbled upon your Web site while looking for an Internet address for Graco baby manufacturer. My husband and I just took our 51/2 month old daughter to the emergency room on Thursday, October 7th. She has a spiral fracture on her left leg from her "walker." Although it does not have wheels, it is attached to a big "bowl" that has a seat that without my daughter in it, will rotate 2-3 times fairly quickly when spun. She obviously knows how to spin herself around in it to get to all the toys. When she spun herself, her leg did not go with her. I am trying to reach Graco, to warn them of this potential safety hazard. Other parents should be made aware that even if your walker is very recent, it still can cause damage. My daughter will be in a cast for three weeks.

Heard in the Hospital
I am a volunteer in a hospital in the Ontario (Canada) region. I work in the labour and delivery ward. Today, I happened to overhear one nurse telling another (head nurse) that a patient, who had high blood pressure, was starting to experience abdominal pains and she was starting to see spots before her eyes. The head nurse remarked, "For crying out loud, she is such a pain -- it's all in her head." They all started commenting behind her back. Well, I went through this 2 months before my due date, and I had eclampsia! If my son would have not been immediately delivered we both would have died! I made a comment and said, "You should not make fun of her, this is serious!" They kind of glared at me and said nothing.
This poor woman! I will not be back in until Monday. I hope she is doing well! The nurses at this hospital are very indifferent and unemotional to their patients. All I know is that if if were me, 12 years ago, it may have been fatal due to their neglect. I certainly hope all hospitals are not hiring nurses like this!

Feedback on Dr. Sears
First of all let me tell you how much I love PregnancyToday.com. I have referred many friends here and it's really the only place I go on the Internet. Being a new mom, I don't have a lot of time to "surf" the 'net. I've been posting on the discussion boards for almost a year. I've enjoyed meeting all the moms and getting a lot of great information. I probably should have written earlier to tell you how much I enjoyed it, instead of waiting until there's something I don't agree with to write. I apologize in advance...
I'm disappointed that Dr. Sears and his wife have been chosen to write a column for the Web site. I think what they teach is very controversial and one-sided. It's not so much that I disagree with them (although I do), I just feel that if there is going to be a column provided by a pediatrian, it would be nice to have seen someone a little less controversial. I use the Babywise method (which is also controversial) and wouldn't have liked to see the Ezzos as the author of the column either. Both Dr. Sears and the Ezzos are on opposite ends of the spectrum and neither would appeal to the mainstream person looking for advise about childrearing. There are so many wonderful pediatrians that could have been chosen, I'm just afraid this site will become very one-sided.
I'm sure the site already has an agreement with the Sears and I'm just one person. I just thought I should write and voice my opinion. Again, you're doing a great job on the Web site and appreciate having a great place to come and get information and encouragement.
Thank you,
Lara O'Fallon
