Name of Product: Majestic Curved Top and Flat Top Cribs, Essex Cribs, Brighton/Sussex
Cribs and Captiva Cribs
Importer: Munire Furniture Inc., of Piscataway, N.J. They were manufactured in Indonesia.
Hazard: The cribs fail to meet the federal safety standards for cribs. The four
support brackets on the mattress support spring are too long. The brackets prevent
the spring from lowering to the full 26 inch minimum height in its lowest position,
allowing children inside to crawl over the railing, posing a fall hazard. No incidents
or injuries have been reported.
Description: The cribs are wooden. The recalled cribs include Majestic Curved
Top
cribs with model number 9500; Majestic Flat Top cribs with model number 9000;
Essex cribs with model number 7100; Brighton/Sussex cribs with model number 9100
and Captiva cribs with model number 5100. Only cribs with manufacture dates between
November 1, 2005, and November 1, 2007, are included in the recall. The crib model
number is printed on the white label on the bottom inside of the right side rail.
The crib manufacture date is printed on either the white label near the model
number or on the white label located on the bottom of the headboard. Cribs with
a green sticker on the mattress frame are not included in the recall.
Sold at: Specialty juvenile product stores nationwide from November 2005 through
November 2007 for between $400 and $600.
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled cribs and contact Munire Furniture to receive replacement spring brackets.

Name of Product: Heart and Car Sterling Silver Teethers

Hazard: The hearts and cars on the teethers can break off, posing a choking hazard to infants.
Incidents/Injuries: Elegant Baby has received one report of a baby mouthing the heart when it broke off the teether and became lodged in his mouth.
Description: The sterling silver teethers are circle shaped with either a heart
or car in the center. The teethers have beads inside. The teethers measure two
inches in diameter.
Sold at: Independent infant clothing boutiques nationwide from February 2005 through September 2006 for about $50.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled teethers away from infants and contact the firm for instructions on returning the teethers for a full refund.

Name of Product: Baby Einstein Baby NeptuneŽ Soothing Seascape Crib Toys
Manufacturer: Kids II Inc., of Alpharetta, Ga. Product was manufactured in China.
Hazard: The anchors that hold the straps to the back of the turtle can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: Kids II has received 23 reports of anchors breaking. No injuries have been reported.
Description: The Baby Einstein Baby Neptune Soothing Seascape crib toy is a plastic
molded turtle with a toy aquarium body that has woven fabric straps that attach
to the side rails of a crib. The toy turtle has a stuffed
fabric head and feet. Model number 30858 is printed on the label on the leg of
the turtle. Only crib toys manufactured in October 2007 with date code BJ7 printed
on the back of the battery compartment, are included in the recall.
Sold at: Discount department stores and on-line retailers nationwide from November 2007 through January 2008 for between $25 and $30.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled crib toys and contact Kids II to receive a free replacement toy.

Name of Product: The First Years Newborn-to-Toddler Reclining Feeding Seats
Importer/Distributor: RC2 Corp., of Oak Brook, Ill. They were manufactured in the United States.
Hazard: The restraining straps can pull out of the waist strap slots, posing a fall hazard to young children.
Incidents/Injuries: RC2 has received 38 reports of straps pulling out or nearly pulling out of waist strap slots. There have been 12 reports of children falling out of the chairs.
Description: The First Years Newborn-to-Toddler Reclining Feeding Seat can be
adjusted between reclining and upright positions. The seat includes a tray, reversible
cushion and a three-point safety belt. One side of the seat cushion has a sewn-in
label at the top that says "the first years by Learning Curve." This recall includes
all
feeding seats except those with an "R" stamped inside a raised circle located
on the far left and right of the back of the seatback or those with waist strap
slots that are nine inches apart.
Sold at: Various retailers nationwide from November 2006 through October 2007 for about $30.
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the feeding seat immediately and contact RC2 to obtain free replacement straps.

Name of Product: The First Years 3-in-1 Flush and Sounds Potty Seats
Importer/Distributor: RC2 Corp., of Oak Brook, Ill. They were manufactured in China.
Hazard: Decorative plaque inserted into the back of the potty seat could have
orange paint that contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead
paint standard. No injuries or incidents have been reported.
Description: The recall involves the First Years 3-in-1 Flush and Sounds potty training seats. Each seat has either a yellow chair with a green removable seat and a purple lift out-pot or a blue chair with a white removable seat and green lift out-pot. The words "100 Acre Wood" are molded on the chair back. The plaque inserted into the back of the seat contains molded Winnie the Pooh and Tigger characters.
Sold at: Mass and specialty retailers nationwide from April 2006 through August 2007 for between $20 and $25.
Remedy: Consumers should keep these recalled items away from young children and should contact RC2 to receive a permanent clear protective cover that covers the plaque. The unit can still be used as a potty seat.

Name of Product: Flashing Pacifiers or 2-in-1 Flashing Pacifiers with Whistle Necklaces
Importer/Wholesaler: Sailing (U.S.) International Corp., of Hackensack, N.J. They were manufactured in China.
Hazard: The nipple can detach from the base, posing a choking hazard to young
children. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
Description: The recalled pacifier necklace has a 28-inch multicolored cord with a 3-inch plastic pacifier that comes in assorted colors. A hole at the tip of the nipple is used as a blow hole for the whistle. The pacifier handle operates as the on-off button for the flashing light on both pacifiers. "Flashing Pacifier" or "2-in-1 Flashing Pacifier with Whistle Necklace" is printed on the packaging of the pacifiers.
Sold at: Various retail stores nationwide during the month of June 2007 for about $5 per dozen.
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the pacifiers and return them to the store where purchased to receive a full refund or discard the pacifiers.

Name of Product: Boppy Slipcovers

Hazard: The zipper pull on the slipcovers can break, posing a choking hazard to young children. In addition, paint on the zippers contains excess levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard. No injuries or incidents have been reported.
Description: This recall involves velvet and boa slipcovers intended for use with the Boppy Bare Naked nursing and support pillow.
Slipcovers recalled due to a choking hazard were sold in three color combinations
and have the following UPC and date codes found on the California Flammability
Law tag. Slipcovers sold in clear vinyl packages are labeled Boppy Luxe.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Jetmax
International Ltd., of Irving, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 36,000 boy's
and girl's storage racks with canvas totes. The storage rack can tip over, posing
an entrapment and suffocation hazard to young children.
CPSC has received one report of a death involving an 8-month-old boy who was asphyxiated after he pulled on the storage rack and it fell over on him. The top rail landed on the infant's neck. No other incidents have been reported.
The storage rack is wooden with three levels and nine removable canvas totes. There are wooden handles on each side of the rack. The boy's storage rack has natural color wood with red, yellow, green and navy canvas totes. The girl's storage rack has white colored wood with pink, yellow, lime and purple canvas totes.
Wal-Mart sold the storage rack under the brand "Home Trend Kids 9 Canvas Bin
Boy's and Girl's Organizers."
The storage racks were manufactured in China.
They were sold at Wal-Mart stores nationwide from August 2004 through July 2005 and Ollie's stores nationwide from July 2006 through June 2007 for about $40. Consumers should immediately stop children from using the recalled storage racks and contact Jetmax International to receive a free repair kit that adds stability to the base.

Hazard: The bolts connecting the top corners of the crib can come loose, creating
a gap and posing a serious entrapment and strangulation hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: Bassettbaby has 85 reports of bolts loosening, including one report of a 13-month-old child's hand becoming entrapped between the railings.
Description: This recall involves Wendy Bellissimo Collection convertible cribs, model numbers 5945-0521 and 5545-0521, sold in honey and cherry finishes. The full-size cribs have a sleigh design and one of the following purchase order numbers at the bottom rail of the headboard: 272903, 272904, 273904, 276728, 276729, 291081, 323975, 324472, 320318, 323976, 332883 365620, 368466 in honey, and 338535, 338537 and 332884 in cherry. All other Wendy Bellissimo Collection cribs are not involved in this recall.
Sold at: Babies R Us stores nationwide from July 2005 through October 2007 for about $500.
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these cribs immediately and contact Bassettbaby for a free repair kit.
