Gap Recalls Children's Coats

Retailer: Gap Inc., of San Francisco, Calif. They were manufactured in China and Indonesia.

Gap childrens toggle coatHazard: The coats have toggle fasteners that could break and detach from the coat, posing a choking hazard to young children. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves three different children's coat styles with toggles including Rose Toggle Hoodie (style 600298), Pink Duffle Coat (style 600344), and Blue Plaid and Mojave Toggle Coat (style 600942). The coats were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months and are made of cotton, polyester or polyester/acrylic. The toggles are light tan plastic and about 1 3/4 inches long.

Gap childrens toggle coatSold at: babyGap, GapKids and Gap Stores nationwide and at www.gap.com from October 2008 through April 2009 for between $20 and $50.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled coats away from children and return them to any babyGap, GapKids, or Gap store for a full refund. Consumers who return the coats before August 31, 2009 will also receive a 20 percent off coupon for a regular priced item. Contact Gap to return by mail if purchased online.

Women's Chenille Robes Recalled by Blair

Name of Product: Full Length Women's Chenille Robes

Retailer: Blair LLC, of Warren, Pa. They were manufactured in Pakistan.

Blair womens chenille robeHazard: Some robes fail to meet federal flammability requirements and present a risk of serious burns to consumers if they are exposed to an open flame.

Incidents/Injuries: Blair has received three reports of the robes catching on fire, including one report of second-degree burns.

Description: The recall involves the Full Length Women's Chenille Robe with the following item numbers: 3093111, 3093112, 3093113, 3093114, 3093115 and 3093116. The item number is identified on a label in the garment's neckline. This is a one-piece garment made of plush sculpted chenille, a shaped stand collar and horizontal chenille front and back yolks and cuffs. The robe has a full-button front with seven matching button closures, long sleeves with self cuffs, a straight bottom with self hem and two sideseam pockets. The robe's sewn in label states: "100% Cotton, RN 81700, Made in Pakistan." Robes with other item numbers are not included in the recall.

Sold at: Blair catalogs and Web site and Blair stores in Warren, Pa., Grove City, Pa., and Wilmington, Del., from January 2003 through March 2009 for about $20 to $40.

Remedy: Consumers should stop wearing the garment immediately. Contact Blair LLC for information on returning the robe and to receive a refund or a $50 gift card for Blair merchandise.

Description: This recall involves women's sling-back, pointed-toe shoes sold under the George brand. The shoes were sold in three colors: black, grey and purple, and in sizes 5 1/2 to 11.

Sold exclusively at: Wal-Mart stores nationwide from June 2008 through December 2008 for about $13.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop wearing the shoes and return them to the nearest Wal-Mart for a full refund.

Hazard: The shoe has four decorative wheels that can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received one report of a decorative wheel detaching from the shoe. No injuries have been reported.

Wal-Mart Cars fleece clogsDescription: This recall involves the Buster Brown & Co. CARS fleece clog children's shoes. The shoe is a red plastic molded clog with fleece lining and is designed to resemble a car. They were sold in infant sizes 4 to 6 and toddler sizes 7 to 11. The infant-size shoes have a strap in the back. Each side of the shoe has two red and black decorative wheels and the number 95. Buster Brown & Co. and Disney are printed on a tag sewn inside the shoe.

Sold exclusively at: Wal-Mart stores in the United States and Canada from September 2008 through March 2009 for between $6 and $10 (U.S.) and for about $13 (CAN).

Remedy: Customers should immediately take this product away from children and return it to the nearest Wal-Mart store for a full refund.

No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled children's hooded fleece jackets for ages 6-12 were sold in sizes M through XXL in black, navy and heather gray royal blue. Brand names Golden Grove or Young USA, style number 20K and RN number 106197 are printed on a tag on the jacket's collar.

Sold at: CVS Stores in the greater Los Angeles area from August 2008 through September 2008 for about $10.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the drawstrings from the sweatshirts to eliminate the hazard, or return the garment to the place of purchase or to Golden Grove Trading for a full refund.

Description: The recalled children's hooded sweatshirts have RN number 85773 printed in the center back neck and were sold in sizes S-XL. The product name and style number are printed on the hangtag on the left side seam of the garment, which comes in a variety of colors (some examples shown here).

LaJolla hoodie recallSold at: Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Boscovs, Chicks Sporting Goods, Gottschalks, Jacks Surf and Sport, Lesters and Zappos nationwide from December 2007 through January 2009 for about $30.
