Hazard: The control device that adjusts the heat and massage settings can overheat,
posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Berkline has received three reports of the control device overheating. No injuries have been reported.
Description: This recall involves the Berkline heated massage recliners with model number 13071 and piece code number 2700. The brand name, the model number and the piece code can be found on the bill of sale and/or product packaging. The recliners were sold in brown and burgundy.
Sold at: Exclusively at Value City Furniture and American Signature Furniture stores nationwide from December 2006 through February 2007 for about $400. They were manufactured in China.
Remedy: Consumers should stop using these recliners immediately and contact Value City Furniture or American Signature Furniture to have the recliner removed and to receive a full refund.

Name of Product: Antique White Furniture from the Cottage Collection

Importer: The Land of Nod®, of Northbrook, Ill.
Hazard: Some of the recalled furniture contains paint with high levels of lead. The lead level exceeds that allowed by the federal ban on lead-containing paint, which is designed to protect children who might ingest paint chips or peelings. Lead paint is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
Incidents/Injuries: None.
Description: The recall includes furniture and item numbers found here. The item number can be found on a label located on the back of the product. The shelf kits include one shelf and two shelf supports for use in the Low Rider Bookcase, the Double-Door Armoire or the District 28 Armoire.
Sold by: Land of Nod catalog and Web site nationwide, and The Land of Nod stores in Illinois and Washington from September 2003 to August 2006 for between $50 and $1,100.
Manufactured in: Mexico
Remedy: Consumers should contact the Land of Nod immediately to determine whether their furniture is included in this recall. If included in this recall, consumers should stop using the recalled furniture. The Land of Nod will arrange for an exchange, credit or refund and offer consumers a gift card to be used toward a future purchase.

Description: The wooden toy storage box is decorated with graphics from the animated movie Cars. It has three removable cloth toy bins. "Delta" and the PO# are printed on the side panel. Only toy boxes with "PO#FJ505192" or "PO#FJ605042" marked on the side panel are included in this recall.
Sold exclusively at: Toys "R" Us stores from March 2006 through August 2006 for about $50. The product was manufactured in China.
Remedy: Consumers should take the recalled toy chests away from children immediately and return it to any Toys "R" Us for a credit or refund.

Name of Product: Home Trends Wood Footstools

Hazard: Due to improper construction, the stool can break and collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers.
Incidents/Injuries: Wal-Mart has received nine reports of the footstools breaking. There have been seven reports of injuries, including a broken toe, neck and shoulder soreness, cuts, bruises, swelling, a slight concussion and whiplash.
Description: The footstool is a natural-colored wood footstool. The standing surface is 11 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches with a 4-inch-long oval opening in the center. The stool is 11 1/2 inches tall. The recalled footstool can be identified by a white sticker underneath the step that contains the UPC number 87065900001.
Sold at: Wal-Mart stores exclusively nationwide from December 2005 through September 2006 for about $10.
Manufactured in: Malaysia
Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the product and return it to Wal-Mart for a full refund.

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Pier
1 Imports (U.S.) Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas, is voluntarily recalling about 4,300
Ming TV Stands. If a consumer leans on the stand's drawer when open, the unit
can tilt forward and cause a television on top to slide off, posing a risk of
injury or death.
Pier 1 has not received any reports of injuries in the United States. Pier 1 has received a report of a death of a young child in Canada, which occurred when a television fell off the TV stand.
The Ming TV Stand, SKU 2065368, is a brown wooden cabinet that sits directly on the floor and measures 35 1/2 inches wide, 17 3/4 inches deep and 23 1/2 inches high. The TV stand contains an open storage space between its top shelf and its single bottom drawer.
The stands were sold at Pier 1 stores nationwide and online through Pier 1's Web site from August 2005 through February 2006 for about $250.
Customers should immediately remove televisions or other heavy items from these TV stands. The stands should be returned to a Pier 1 Imports store for a refund or merchandise credit.

Hazard: The recalled stools can be unstable due to missing screws, loose screws or wrongly sized screws, posing a fall hazard to consumers.

Description: The recalled stools have four legs, are made of wood, and have dark brown or black seats. The counter stool is 24 inches tall and the bar stool is 30 inches tall. The stools have item numbers 202448 and 118136, which can be found on the packaging material.
Sold at: Lowe's stores nationwide from October 28, 2005 through May 23, 2006 for about $40.
Manufactured in: United States
Remedy: Consumers should stop using the stools immediately, look for missing or loose screws, and if the stools are unstable consumers should return them to any Lowe's store to receive a full refund.

Hazard: The legs on the picnic table can buckle or break during use, causing the table to collapse or fold unexpectedly.
Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received 26 reports of the tables collapsing, including 18 reports of injuries including a broken foot and muscle strains.
Description: The recalled picnic tables have a green plastic top, four green plastic seats that are permanently attached and silver/steel aluminum legs. Model numbers involved in this recall are W50B2268 and W50H0284. The model numbers are located on the packaging.
Sold only at: Family Dollar, Rite-Aid, Kerr Drug, Happy Harry's, Mays, Community Distributors, Farmacias El Amal, Eckerd, Snyder Drug, Navarro Discount Pharmacies and Duane Reade stores nationwide from January 2001 through December 2005 for between $20 and $40.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the picnic tables and contact Atico for product verification and product return instructions. Consumers who return their table to Atico will receive a refund and up to $15 for return shipping by U.S. ground.

Name of Product: Frameworx Table Height Chairs and Bar Stools

Manufacturer: Brunswick Bowling & Billiards Corp., of Lake Forest, Ill.
Hazard: The down shaft on the seat plate assembly can fracture, which can cause an occupant of the seat to fall.
Incidents/Injuries: Brunswick has received reports of 20 incidents in which the seat plate assembly has failed. Three injuries resulting from falling from a seat have been reported.
Description: The recalled chairs and bar stools were sold under the model name Frameworx. The models affected are short table height chair model number 53-861025-000 and tall bar stool model number 57-860979-000. The model name and model numbers are not written on the chairs. The model number is only written on the original shipping carton, packing list or invoice. The chairs and bar stools have a plastic bucket-style seat bolted to a steel seat plate assembly that connects to the down tube of the seat.
Sold by: Distributors of Brunswick Bowling furniture selling to bowling center operators. This product was not sold to the general public. The chairs were sold from September 1995 through May 2004.

Remedy: Bowling centers owning these table height chairs and bar stools have been directly notified about this recall. Owners of the bar stools and table height chairs should stop using these products immediately and contact Brunswick to receive a free repair kit.

Description: This recall involves plastic cam hardware covers used to cover the hardware on the Homeroom bedroom collection. Sold in a natural stain maple veneer, the collection includes a bed, dresser, nightstand, toy chest and shelving systems.
Sold at: HoldEverything.com and through the Hold Everything catalog nationwide from July 2004 through March 2006 for between $75 and $995.

Name of Product: LYCKSELE Chair Bed and Sofa Bed

Hazard: Fingers can become caught in the folding mechanism of the chair bed/sofa bed, posing a laceration and/or amputation hazard.
Incidents/Injuries: IKEA has received one report of a consumer who has been injured when attempting to operate the folding mechanism. The incident involved a fingertip amputation.
Description and Models: This recall involves LYCKSELE chair beds and sofa beds produced before July 2005 and date stamped (year/week) 0526 and earlier. The frames are constructed of iron and have natural wood slats. IKEA, the article number (700-326-82 chair bed and 900-326-81 sofa bed), and a four digit date stamp are printed on a white sticker located on the underside of the product.
Sold at: IKEA stores nationwide and on the Ikea Web site from April 1999 through June 2006 for $40 (chair bed) and $90 (sofa bed).
Manufactured In: France, Bulgaria, China and Romania
Remedy: Consumers who have a LYCKSELE chair bed or sofa bed date stamped 0526 or earlier and which is missing safety covers for the folding mechanism should call or visit their local IKEA store to receive free safety covers, which fit over the folding mechanism to prevent finger access. LYCKSELE chair beds and sofa beds produced since July 2005 (date stamp 0527 and later) were sold with safety covers.
