Description: This recall involves Nautilus F3 Chin Dip stationary exercise units. The model number (F3CD) is located on the frame of the product.

Sold by: Nautilus direct and distributors to fitness centers nationwide from May 2007 through February 2009 for about $1,300.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled exercise units. Fitness centers and clubs have been sent free redesigned support plates for the footpads. Fitness centers and clubs should call Nautilus if they have not received the support plates directly from Nautilus.

Polaris Industries Recalls ATVs Due to Fire Hazard

Name of Product: 2009 Model Year Polaris All-terrain Vehicles (ATVs)

Manufacturer: Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn.

Polaris 2009 ATVHazard: The valve assembly can fail in freezing temperatures, causing oil to leak into the exhaust system. This could pose a fire and burn hazard to the rider.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received six reports of the valve assembly failing in freezing temperatures, resulting in three small fires. Minor fire damage to air boxes, ignition coils and the seat were reported.

Description: This recall involves the Polaris ATVs with model year 2009. The ATVs were sold under market names Sportsman ESP XP 850 and Sportsman XP 850 ATVs. The model and serial number identification decal is located on the left side of the machine on the frame rail below the front fender. Click here to see the model numbers.

Sold at: Polaris dealers nationwide from September 2008 through June 2009 for about $9,000.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the ATV in sub-freezing temperatures and contact their local Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. Registered owners have received direct mail notification of this recall if they are likely to experience consistently sub-freezing temperatures.

Elliptical Exercise Gliders Recalled by Thane Due to Fall Hazard

Hazard: The written instructions incorrectly identify the proper location of the spring washer. An incorrectly installed spring washer can put undue stress on bolts, causing them to loosen, which poses a fall hazard to consumers. No incidents or injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Orbitrek Elite ("OE") and Orbitrek Elite Magnetic ("OEM") elliptical gliders with model numbers BK2080 (OE) and BK2280 (OEM). The recalled gliders have a blue and gray plastic cover. The model name can be located on the side of the machine. No other models of Orbitrek-branded elliptical gliders are included in this recall.

Thane Orbitrek Elite elliptical exercise glidersSold: Directly to consumers at www.thane.com and through television infomercials from March 2007 through May 2009 for between $200 and $300.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled machines until they inspect their unit and confirm that the spring washer is in the correct location. Thane is directly contacting consumers to provide new assembly instructions, which can also be located on the firm's Web site.

Name of Product: Sevylor Tow Behinds with Quick Hitch Connectors

Sevca Sevylor tow behindHazard: The Quick Hitch, which connects the towable to the boat, can break and project pieces of the plastic Quick Hitch back toward the boat. If this occurs, an individual can be struck and seriously injured.

Incidents/Injuries: Sevca LLC has received one report of an occupant of a boat being struck by a piece of the Quick Hitch still attached to the towrope.

Description: The recall involves the following model Sevylor Tow Behinds with Quick Hitch component. The Quick Hitches were manufactured between 2005 and 2009. The model numbers and descriptions can be found here.

Sold at: Department and retail stores nationwide from January 2005 through December 2009 for between about $50 and $240.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using their recalled tow behinds and contact Sevca to receive instructions on how to remove the Quick Hitch from their tow behind and use the tow behind without the Quick Hitch. Consumers will receive a 1-2 person tow rope for returning the Quick Hitch.

The model name is printed on the upper part of the boot. Boots included in this recall have a 5- or 6-digit lot number stamped on the right boot under the removable insole.

Rossignol cross-country bootSold by: Specialty outdoor retailers nationwide for between $140 and $400 (U.S.) and for between $200 and $500 (Canada) from December 2007 through June 2009.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled boots and contact Rossignol to determine if their boots are included in this recall and if so, receive a free replacement or a refund.

Description: The recalled tabletop rope cutters are used for cutting and cauterizing rope. This recall includes MarineTech part number 75-7070 and West Marine part number 559419. The Marine Tech part number is located on the side of the rope cutter. "Panther" is printed on the rope cutter.

Sold at: West Marine stores nationwide from December 2006 through April 2009 for about $100.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the rope cutters and contact MarineTech to receive a free replacement rope cutter. MarineTech is directly contacting purchasers of this product.

Polaris Recalls Snowmobiles Due to Loss of Control Hazard

Name of Product: 2009 Polaris Assault model Snowmobiles

Polaris Assault snowmobileHazard: Bolts on the rear suspension can break, causing the rail tip to become dislodged and interfere with the snowmobile's track. This can cause the track to lock up and the rider to lose control of the snowmobile, posing a risk of injury.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received reports of eight incidents in which the rail tip bolts broke, two of which resulted in the rider being ejected from the snowmobile. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves 2009 Polaris 800 Assault RMK 146 snowmobiles model numbers S09PL8EE and S09PL8ES. "Assault 800" is printed on the snowmobile's hood. "Polaris" is written on the seat. The model number is located on the right side of the tunnel below the seat. The snowmobiles are red and black.

Sold by: Polaris dealers nationwide from September 2008 through June 2009 for about $10,600.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled snowmobiles and contact any Polaris snowmobile dealer to schedule a free repair. Polaris has notified registered consumers directly about this recall.

Incidents/Injuries: Loaded Boards has received 10 reports of wheels separating. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recall involves Orangatang "In-Heat" skateboard wheels. They were sold in two styles: 75mm/purple/83a durometer and 75mm/orange/80a durometer. The words "orangatang," "In Heat," and the size and durometer are written on the sidewall of the wheel. The wheels were sold in sets of four.

Sold at: Authorized Loaded Boards/Orangatang Wheels dealers nationwide from March 2009 through April 2009 for about $55 per set.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the wheels immediately and contact Loaded Boards Inc. or any authorized dealer for a free replacement.

Bicycles Recalled by REI Due to Fork Failure

REI Novara Trionfo bicycleHazard: The fork can separate from the steerer tube, which can cause the rider to lose control, posing a fall hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received two reports of forks separating causing riders to fall. Injuries reported include a fractured clavicle, broken teeth, facial damage and head injuries.

Description: This recall involves 2005 Novara Trionfo bicycles with Aprebic carbon fiber forks. The bicycles are blue and white with black forks, and have the name "Novara" printed on the bars.

Sold at: REI retail stores nationwide from January 2005 through August 2006 for between $720 and $1,900.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and return them to an REI retail store a free repair.
