Mumto2 - I would like to add that we all should be thankful to have brave people such as yourself, who are willing to protect future children from being hurt. I am sorry that you didn't recieve the support you needed from your family. But pleaseknow that I amthankful that you were courageous enough to come forward. There needs to be more people like you willing to risk in order to protect children!
Thank you.

In a time where I feel my family is falling apart, it was nice to read your posts. My family is currently at "war" due to differing sides who are either in support or disgust of a long time family friend recently incarcerated for child molestation. This man did it to me also, yet my own flesh and blood sister went up to testify against me calling me a liar saying this man is an upstanding citizen. The knife went deep on that one. Then my mother who is close to her, is making excuses for her testimony. My brother is neutral as is the rest of my family. I used to be close to sister and mum, but know feel there is no hope. I am ready to severe ties forever to the two of them. For how could she do that too me, and why did my mother let this happen to me? I hope to be nothing like her to my two children. I feel all I have to be thankful for is my daughter and my health. Without her, I would feel hopeless...

I'm thankful for our dirty laundry because it means we have clothes to wear, I'm thankful for the sinkful of dishes because it means we have food to eat, and I'm thankful for taxes because it means we have employment. :-)

hi PHILBERT..
here in bermuda we don't celebrate thanksgiving. any americans living here do (and in fact i went to my husband's aunt's house last nite for dinner!) but there is no holiday.
then of course the canadians living here celebrate canadian thanksgiving, but we don't have a bermuda thanksgiving.
the 2 biggest holidays here (other than christmas) are may 24th, bermuda day. and "cupmatch" which is a 4 day weekend at the end of july/beg of august where the east end of the island plays the west end of the island in a 2-day cricket match!!
hope everyone is stuffed from turkey today!

I am thankful to God, to the doctor who saved my baby's life, to my mother-in-law who helped me out after my baby was born, to my manager who allowed me working from home part time and to everyone else who is involved in my life rightnow. The life is beautiful and I am thankful to that too. Have a wonderful thanksgiving everyone. Best wishes from our family to you all.

Philbert~ In the United States we celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November (which happened to be the 27th this yr.)
I am thankful for God and all of his many blessings...and I am thankful that he made me one of his blessings.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I am thankful that I was born into this part of the world where there is so much opportunity, and freedom to choose from amongst those endless possibilities. And of course for my family, friends and generally everything else good in my life which all more or less stems from the first sentence.
I have a question for any of the Americans on the board: Is Thanksgiving for you always the same day in November every year (ie. the 27th), or how does that work? Just curious to learn. In Canada it is always on the second Monday in October (SH or Riley's Mom can double-check me on this!)
j-mo--when does your little island paradise celebrate Thanksgiving, if at all?
