The Mobile Cinema is a portable entertainment system that includes an LCD monitor and a Video Cassette Player (VCP). You also can get a TV tuner as an optional feature, plus you can connect any standard video game system. The concept is fairly simple. The monitor and VCP are housed in a padded bag which gets strapped between the two front seats of your vehicle. The bag zips open and the monitor either hangs between the two front seats or it can be attached to the headrest of the driver's or passenger's seat. The VCR rests comfortably at arms' reach from either the front or back for loading tapes/games and it also comes with a remote control. Aside from the obvious benefit of keeping your children entertained on long road trips, the Mobile Cinema can also be utilized at your destination using the included standard 110 volt power cord. I love the ability to easily take the system in and out of our cars. We only need one video system for all our vehicles and while we are "in-town," we don't have to address the issue of watching videos or playing games on a short trip to the grocery store.

It really only takes a few minutes to install or remove the system, so we just keep it handy for longer trips and pop it in when we need it. While maybe not as fancy as those overhead built-in console systems, there is a lot to be said for the simplicity of this product. It does exactly what we need it to do. And, the fact that I can use it in multiple cars or lend it to a friend just makes it that much more useful. Steelhorse Automotive also carries overhead and floor console based systems if that is what you're looking for, but, the Mobile Cinema system works great for us.
