About the Classes
iParenting University, in partnership with Good Samaritan Hospital, is the premier place for parents and parents-to-be to learn about the issues that affect families today. The learning interface provides students with the opportunity to read class materials and interact with their classmates at a time most convenient to them.

Detailed lectures and handouts are posted to the class area each week. Students can participate in the class discussion area any time they wish, and post questions to the instructor on another discussion board. Scheduled chats give the students an opportunity to have "live" time with both the instructor and their classmates. To enhance the learning experience, assignments may be given.

Students can print out the class materials for later reference and can choose to receive a completion certificate as a keepsake.

About the Instructors
In partnership with Good Samaritan Hospital, iParenting University instructors come from a wide variety of backgrounds, have vast knowledge and varied areas of expertise. However, they all share a common goal: They are committed to educating and inspiring parents along the adventure of parenting. Our instructors are experts in their class subjects, either by years of study or years of practical experience -- oftentimes both. Depending on the type of class, students might be taught by a nurse, childbirth instructor, psychologist or a member of the iParenting editorial team with years of experience with the subject. iParenting University instructors are passionate about their topics and want to share that with their students.

After You've Enrolled
You will receive an email 2-3 days before the class begins which includes a username and password for accessing the class area. Basic instructions on how to navigate the class area will also be included.

In the event that you cannot attend the class, you may receive credit toward the class immediately following the one you are enrolled in. If you cannot use this credit, you may transfer it to another party. If a technical problem arises and cannot be resolved within the first week of class, you will receive a credit toward the next class.

iParenting University Class Guidelines
We at iParenting University want your experience to be fulfilling. We recognize that although these classes won't launch your career or increase your portfolio, they will raise your awareness about the really important things in life: successful family relations and personal well-being.

To help you make the most of your experience, we suggest following these guidelines:

  • Ask Questions. Your instructor is happy to answer your questions on the message board and during chat sessions. And your classmates can offer support and advice on the group discussion board. This is your perfect opportunity to discuss the topic at length!
  • Take Your Class Seriously. Your lectures, assignments and chats are all an integral part of the class and should not be missed. Chats are the only event that requires you to be "in class" during a specific time. Take the time to enhance your experience.
  • Order Your Class Materials Early. If you plan to buy the recommended books or other materials specified by the instructor, make sure you allow yourself enough time for ordering and shipping.
  • Have fun! These classes are meant to be pleasurable and rewarding. We hope you'll find that iParenting University gives you the skills you need while providing a fun and supportive setting.
